This ammonite goniatite is free standing makes a nice display
piece
The name Ammonite is derived from the name of a Greek God
Ammon. Ammonites are extinct but they have a living "relative" the
chambered Nautilus. There is no fossil remnant of the ammonite itself the soft part, but scientists figured it looked like a Squid,
with tentacles for grasping food and moving around the ocean floor
Some Ammonites reached 6 feet across ( 2 meters) found in
Morocco, some never got bigger than a dime
